Spiranac Voices Support for Woods After DUI Arrest

Golf influencer Paige Spiranac offered words of encouragement for Tiger Woods following his DUI arrest after a rollover crash in Jupiter Island, Florida. Woods announced he is stepping away from golf to seek treatment and focus on his health. Spiranac posted on X that people are rooting for Woods as a person amid his challenges.

Woods pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, waived arraignment and requested a jury trial. In a statement, he acknowledged the seriousness of his situation and committed to prioritizing his well-being for lasting recovery. Authorities found prescription opioids in his pocket after the crash; deputies noted signs of impairment including bloodshot eyes and lethargic movements.

Woods, a 15-time major champion, explained during field sobriety tests that he had been distracted by his phone and radio. This arrest marks his second DUI charge in the past decade, following a 2017 incident in Jupiter Island where he was found asleep behind the wheel after taking prescription medication. He also suffered severe leg injuries in a 2021 rollover crash requiring multiple surgeries.

Woods recently returned to competition in The Golf League after back surgeries and Achilles repair. Augusta National Chairman Fred Ridley confirmed Woods will not play in the Masters Tournament. Woods had entered the U.S. Senior Open scheduled for early July.
