Kai Trump, the 17-year-old granddaughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, shared a video on Instagram Stories of herself performing box squats in the gym ahead of her freshman season with the University of Miami women's golf team. She captioned the post "We’re so back" and tagged her coach, Alex Paup.

Trump, from Martin County, Florida, officially joined the Hurricanes program for the 2025-26 season, with the announcement made on June 26, 2024.[1][2] The team competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

In an interview with Fox News Digital on July 25, 2024, Trump expressed her ambition to turn professional after college, stating "I 100% want to go pro" and that "Miami is going to get me ready for that."[3]

The class of 2025 recruit has competed in junior golf events and family-related pro-ams, including at Trump National Doral Golf Club.[2]
